Volcano Boarding isn't something for the faint-hearted. You will have to hike up Cerro Negro, which takes about an hour. Then the actual fun begins as you slide or surf down the 728-meter-high volcano in less than 5 minutes. And the speed, well that really depends on how fast you want to go!
Cerro Negro is located near the city of Leon and is reached within a 50-minute drive.
The 728-meter-high volcano is still active! Don't worry though, it hasn't erupted since 1999 and its activity is monitored regularly.
Our 4-wheel drive car picks you up at your accommodation or a central pick-up point in León and takes you to the volcano.
Volcano boarding is an unique activity in Nicaragua, in Latin America and in the world! Our volcano board experiences have been featured in several international newspapers and glossy magazines.
